Our Priest

The High Priest of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church is Our Lord, God, and Savior Jesus Christ. He alone serves as the mediator between the faithful of our community and the Almighty Lord (Hebrews 2:17; 4:14.) All members of our Church, whether clergy or laity, constitute his mystical body and participate equally in his priesthood (1 Peter 2:5; Revelation 1:6; 5:10; 20:6)

Our Proistamenos (from the Greek "the one who presides" at our local Eucharist) is Rev. Presbyter Kevin Teed Millsaps. He has been duly appointed as the representative of His Eminence Metropolitan ALEXIOS of Atlanta, our local Greek Orthodox bishop in the Southeastern United States.

Fr. Kevin, son of Calvin and Joy Millsaps, was born and raised in East Tennessee. As a child, he frequently attended his family's Church. After graduating from Heritage High School in Maryville, Tennessee in 1993, Fr. Kevin entered military service as an enlisted soldier. In 1999, he graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a B.A. in Public Administration and Economics. In 1998, Fr. Kevin received his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserves and entered service as an armor officer. In 1999, he married Tina Smith of Heiskell, Tennessee.

After extensively researching early Christian history together, Fr. Kevin and Presbytera Tina entered the Greek Orthodox Church in 2002. Shortly thereafter, Fr. Kevin felt a strong call from the Lord to enter the Orthodox Christian priesthood. He enrolled at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in 2003. In 2006, he received an M.A. in History with a concentration in Byzantine political and religious studies from East Tennessee State University. He was elevated to the priesthood by His Eminence Metropolitan ALEXIOS of Atlanta in January 2007. In May 2007, he received his M.Div. from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline, Massachusetts.

In addition to his parish responsiblities, Fr. Kevin also serves as a U.S. Army Reserve Chaplain with the 3rd Squadron, 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment in Kingsport, Tennessee. He has also served as an adjunct instructor in the Bible and Religion Department at King College in Bristol, Tennessee. He and Presbytera Tina, their son Ambrose, and their cat Nova enjoying travelling and taking in the breathtaking scenery of East Tennessee and the entire Appalachian region.
